We’re looking for an experienced Senior Postgres Database Administrator who can help execute DevOps activities  including job automation and verification tasks. This position will also help with Systems and Database level monitoring and performance, audit, capacity and maintenance activities that our team handles.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Oversee large scale Postgres and Greenplum Database DevOps Deliverables
  • Follow best practices for availability, security, backup and recovery, and integrity of Epsilon databases
  • Actively be a member of the on-call rotation 24 x 7 x 365 support through on-call rotation. Pager duty will be required
  • Participate in database infrastructure and future-state design planning and implementation
  • Understand upcoming software development and plan related database-changes
  • Contribute to formulating and documenting company database standards, guidelines and operational procedures
  • Support users, tune and troubleshoot data access applications and ad hoc queries
  • Interact with vendor support to ensure open issues are resolved within defined SLA
  • Evaluate new database technologies and products and recommend to technical management.

What you’ll bring:

  • At least 5 years of experience in of recent DevOps experience with Postgres DB
  • B.S. in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of recent DevOps experience with Greenplum DB
  • At least 1-2 year of recent DevOps experience with Elasticsearch
  • Proficiency in both Bash and Unix/Linux Shell Scripting
  • Strong knowledge of building complex SQL queries
  • Experience working in a Unix/Linux environment from a recent position
  • Self-starter and be able to perform work with minimal supervisory direction
  • Extremely detail-oriented with strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
