Job Description
The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a full-time Research Database Manager to join the Center for Neurobehavioral Genetics. Our program of research is aimed at developing a databank and biobank, including DNA samples and both phenotypic and genotypic data, from Latin America. Primary duties include:
- Build and maintain existing and novel research database based on EMR data
- Assist the international team in running the de-identification pipeline and perform data upload to AWS or other cloud-base servers
- Performa data downloads through existing online research databases, provide data summary reports and perform basic quality control steps
- Assist in REDCap project creation and maintenance to support all phases of the research programs
- Maintain and monitor UNIX server
- Other duties as assigned
Salary range: $22.94-$36.54 Hourly
QualificationsB.S. or M.S. Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
Strong programming background in R or Python, UNIX, shell scripting
Previous experience in research or health care settings
Ability to prioritize and complete in a timely way work on multiple
projects with competing requirements
Preferred:
object-oriented programming such as C++ or Java
knowledge of database management techniques and
relational databases
experience with Amazon Web Services or related cloud-based
servers
