Title: Linux System Administrator

Specific knowledge of Linux Operating Systems required Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux servers, networks Working technical knowledge of DevSecOps Good technical knowledge of current Infrastructure as Code tools for example (GIT, Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Chef) Good technical knowledge of Azure and VmWare.
The Linux System Administrator’s role is to Automate, Deploy and manage Linux servers and related components to ensure high levels of availability and security of the supported business applications. Implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure Linux system security through secure system access, monitoring, control, and routine security evaluations
Perform standard configuration, management, and maintenance tasks for related file systems, clustering, storage, and applications Perform and test data backups and restores, in conjunction with the storage team where present, to ensure full data retrieval Review and deploy linux system releases and vendor-supplied patches according to best practices
Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on all linux systems Support application development teams throughout project lifecycles
Monitor, test, and tune system performance; preserve and provide system log files as needed Recommend and execute modifications to Linux systems in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance
Conduct research on linux-related hardware and software in support of procurement and system development efforts
Ensure linux-based systems comply with policies, standards, licensing agreements, configuration guidelines, and best-practices for maintaining regulatory compliance
Automate Provisioning linux and application containers on-prem and in our cloud environments.
Develop, document, and maintain Linux system training materials and systems documentation for educating new IT staff Education BS Degree / Computer Science / Management Information Systems/ or related is preferred
DevSecOps and ansible exposure desired Training Red Hat Linux (7,8,9) desired
