Job Description

We currently have a vacancy for a DevOps Automation Engineer fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based inThe Hague, the Netherlands. The work will be carried out either on the company’s premises or on-site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated and closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team, on-site.

Your tasks:

  • Maintain and improve our Docker/Kubernetes infrastructure, both in the cloud (e.g. Azure) and on-premises (Rancher);
  • Plan, test and develop infrastructure and application automation as well as implement automated deployment and configuration;
  • Support day-to-day activities of deploying servers and applications together with continuous integration and continuous delivery;
  • Establish and maintain procedures for the deployment of information systems;
  • Monitor and maintain the supporting configuration management infrastructure;
  • Technical review, assurance, and design for deployment combined with improving the existing Puppet infrastructure (secrets management, split of a code repository, hub-and-spoke architecture, etc.);
  • Design, implement and maintain the build/release infrastructure and develop deployments with Terraform, Ansible, Powershell, Python, etc.

Requirements

  • University degree in IT combined with more than 9 years of relevant professional work experience in ICT (e.g. as a developer, system administrator, software engineer, infrastructure engineer, DevOps engineer, etc.);
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Linux/Unix Administration, preferably Red Hat 7+;
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in an international/multi-cultural environment with an agile methodology as well as experience with systems and IT operations;
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with Kubernetes;
  • Excellent knowledge of Kubernetes: Deployment, configuration, management, and troubleshooting of Kubernetes clusters (like rke, rancher, k3d, or k3s) together with application containerization, packaging, and deployment on Kubernetes clusters (helm charts, operators, pipelines);
  • Good knowledge of DevOps principles and best practices (continuous delivery, continuous integration, continuous deployment, use of automation to improve efficiency, feedback loops, fail fast, etc.);
  • Excellent command of the English language.
